about

As I progressed through my journey work I saw there were parts of my life from long ago that I still hadn't completely let go of. Subconscious ideas that I treated as if they still existed. This is a subtle energy that can really hold us back if we don't recognize it. Like someone caught up in a past relationship or a former star lost in their days of glory, these ideas can keep us away from what can potentially be co-created for us in the present. Often when we surrender our control to the present we find that what is created for us is far more satisfying than what we knew before......because I believe that our power resides in our presence and our presence requires all of us, not what we've left lingering behind. If our new life isn't better than before it may just be a road block that we set up for learning. I don't feel it's a a problem to have thoughts of regret around our past. It's how we deal it that's important. One way is to criticize: How can I still be thinking this with how far I've come? Another is to see it as just a voice, and like all voices it has a valid place in us. That is what total self acceptance means. Maybe that voice helped us at one point in our life, but it doesn't need to be the voice that gets to still run the show...

Yesterday Has Gone Away
Music & Lyrics by John Zay

If I could hold your your pain
in the palm of my hand
If I could feel my way
through the distance of the past
If I could look into
the choices that you've made
I would breathe right through
the memories as they fade
cause I appreciate your pain
for you there is no shame
so why don't you come home again

If I could find a way
to go back in time
I would take your hand
and tell you it's all right
cause there is nothing I would change
You're where you need to be today
so why don't you come home again

Yesterday has gone away
Yesterday has gone away

And If took the blame
would it give back another day?
And if I looked away
would it help you to feel safe?
Cause your lost in your mind
and it's you I need to find
so why don't you come home again

Yesterday has gone away
Yesterday has gone away
Yesterday has gone away
Yesterday has gone away
